The South Downs Way

Published in the Portsmouth News on Wednesday 10th October 2012

COULD you capture the beauty of the South Downs in a film?

This is the challenge being set to amateur film makers in return for prizes of up to £500.

The South Downs National Park Authority has launched the film competition, called My South Downs.

It is open to anybody and films can be in documentary, animation, live action, or any other genre.

Stephen Sibbald, interpretation officer for the South Downs National Park, said: ‘Whether you’ve grown up in and around the National Park or you’ve only just discovered it, we want to see your stories.

‘Your film could feature anything from a day out mountain biking, to a quiet ramble, the story of a place which is particularly special to you or about something happening in your local community.

‘We’re excited to see the different ways that people interpret the theme “My South Downs”.’

Entries will be judged by representatives from the National Park Authority and professionals from the film and media industries.

Films must be three minutes or less. For more information visit
