Help care for the South Downs National Park

Published in the Portsmouth News on Friday 5th October 2012

VOLUNTEERS are needed to help care for the South Downs National Park.

Working from Queen Elizabeth Country Park, near Clanfield, the volunteer rangers will cover an area stretching from Winchester to Petersfield, and to Alice Holt Forest in the north.

More than 300 people already volunteer as part of the South Downs volunteer ranger service, which was set up in 1981.

The new team will go out into the national park on alternate Tuesdays from October 16, carrying out conservation work over the winter.

There are also spaces for a monthly Sunday volunteering group. For more information E-mail
